Tadamon! Montreal, D.I.R.A Anarchist Library, and l’Union Communiste Libertaire present: two events in Montreal with Schachaf Polakow from the group Anarchists Against the Wall from Israel, as part of their North American speaking tour.

Anarchists Against the Wall is a direct action group that fights against Israeli apartheid and oppression in all its forms, most recently also the atrocities in Gaza. For five years the group has waged a constant struggle against Israel’s Wall. The work on the ground in the West Bank, alongside the Palestinian popular movement is breaking new ground in the joint struggle for Palestinian liberation. In December 2008, Anarchists Against the Wall and the Bil’in Village Committee were jointly awarded the prestigious Carl von Ossietzky Medal — an award given annually by the Berlin-based International League of Human Rights, named after German Nobel Peace Prize winner Carl von Ossietzky who died in a Nazi concentration camp.

Now more than ever, it is critical to support the Israeli resistance movement against the state’s attempted repression of their work. Members of Anarchists Against the Wall continually pay the price for our activism, including being shot, beaten, arrested and indicted. They desperately need funding for legal support for both Palestinian and Israeli activists who are arrested and charged in the course of the struggle.

Schachaf Polakow is an Israeli actvist, street medic, photographer with the ActiveStills collective and a member of Anarchists Against the Wall. He will be touring the U.S. and Canada from February 1st to March 9th. His presentation will include film and photos, and will focus both on AATW’s recent work in solidarity with Gaza and our ongoing work in the West Bank.

all donations collected at both events will go towards supporting the legal fund of Anarchists Against the Wall, as well as to the struggle against the Apartheid Wall in the Palestinian village of Nil’in.

Israel had to build a wall in order to protect her citizens from terror attacks.
If the Palestinians would stop the terror attacks, there would be no need for a wall.

Palestiniens would not attack if you don’t kill them every day, and steal their land in order to bring more jew to palestinien territories, if you want to get lands and homes buy them as do the rest of humans, and pay the mortgage because we, human race, we don’t kill innocent people in order to steal their homes and lands.
Here are more paraphrased comments:

Excerpts From Israelis Soldiers Breaking the Silence:
We man checkpoints, stop people from going somewhere, humiliate them, but “I’m doing my duty (and) inflicting pain on people, harming them unnecessarily.” It affects your mind, your sleep the longer you serve there. Jews do as they please. There are no laws. Anything goes, breaking into shops, occupying Palestinian homes. Your judgment gets impaired when everyday your enemy is an Arab. You don’t look at them as people. But they’re not dogs, not animals, not inferior, yet they simply don’t count, and since they’re your enemy you can kill them.

SHAME ON YOU NAUSEATING CREATURES!!!!

Response to James:
James, inform yourself, even a little, before offering such a FACILE reason for the existence of the wall.
If you seek a reliable Israeli source of information, check out Haaretz newspaper online. As distasteful as it may be for you, try to sit through documentaries such as the Iron Wall, Occupation 101, etc. Read at least one of Jimmy Carter’s books- he’s not Palestinian, he’s American, so ask yourself what he’s got to gain? If you did minimal research on this obscene attempt to destroy the Palestinian population, you will see who the real terrrorist are. But if you want to wallow in the disinformation of the North American media, then shame on you.
