The January 25, 2012 demonstrations in Egypt demanding the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) immediately hand over power to civilian rule proved to be wildly successful with hundreds of thousands of people taking to the streets all over Egypt.

Independent journalist Lillian Boctor spoke with revolutionary socialist journalist Dina Samak on January 26, 2012 about the ongoing revolution and the protesters’ demands, the state of Egyptian media, the role of the Muslim Brotherhood and their Freedom and Justice political party, the release of political prisoners imprisoned under military trials and the necessity for overall regime change in Egypt.
