Celebrated artist Eric Drooker visited Montreal for the seventeenth edition of Artists Against Apartheid at La Sala Rossa, 15/10/2011.
Artists Against Apartheid concert series continues to feature inspiring artists from Montreal and all around the world, building cultural solidarity with the global Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions BDS movement against the Israeli apartheid and in solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for freedom.
Our recent concert took place in collaboration with the Mile End Poets Festival in Montreal, featuring a performance by Brahja Waldman’s Quartet as well as musical selections via DJ Andy Williams.

No matter how it unfolds, the Egyptian revolution will go down in the history books as a defining moment in the 21st century. Millions of Egyptians brought down one of the world’s most repressive regimes, that of the U.S.-backed Hosni Mubarak, in just 18 days. Their bravery, perseverance, and tactfulness in the face of the regime’s brutal crackdown not only triggered uprisings across the Arab world but inspired and influenced protests against government austerity in the U.S., Spain, Portugal, and Greece. Despite the fact that it is only a few months old, it’s important to begin piecing together a people’s history of the revolution to convey what happened and how it happened so that the lessons from this critical struggle can be disseminated.

On January 21 2009, the Ontario Progressive Conservative Campus Association (OPCCA) held a series of workshops advising young conservatives on how to dominate campus discourse, take over student government, and attack their campus public interest research group (PIRG). In the following weeks, similar workshops were held at Carleton and Wilfred Laurier University.
Recordings from the Toronto session were released on WikiLeaks in March of that year. The speakers from the recording are Ryan O’Connor and Aaron Lee-Wudrick, both of whom were active in student politics, and their Conservative Party campus chapter, at the University of Waterloo.

L’année 2009 a été caractérisée par un effort intense et soutenu, ainsi que par plusieurs réalisations pour le collectif Tadamon! Montréal. Nous entamons à présent les mois d’automne avec un ordre du jour rempli d’événements et d’initiatives et avec la perspective de réalisations futures. Nous faisons appel aussi aux partisans, amis et sympathisants de Tadamon! pour leur demander de faire preuve de solidarité financière.
L’activisme de Tadamon se concentre sur la lutte pour la justice sociale, la libération et l’égalité pour les peuples de la Palestine, du Liban et du Moyen-Orient en général. Ce travail s’effectue à travers un effort collectif. Il implique ceux qui œuvrent dans le cadre de notre travail régulier de planification et d’organisation, mais aussi ceux qui participent aux événements publics de Tadamon et qui suivent le travail de Tadamon et fournissent un appui sous forme de contributions financières.
