A benefit party to raise funds for the legal fees of the Palestinian West Bank village of Bil’in, following the launch of Bil’in’s historic lawsuit against two Quebec companies currently building housing and other buildings on lands stolen from the village.

Although the Quebec Superior Court rejected Bil’in’s case after its first round of hearings this June, the village has decided to continue its struggle and appeal this decision. The associated legal fees are, of course, extremely high, and we are asking Montrealers to stand in solidarity with the villagers of Bil’in by contributing to the legal fund.

featuring presentations by

Freda Guttman Montreal artist and long-time activist. Freda spent several months in Palestine this summer with the International Solidarity Movement. She is an active member of Tadamon! Montreal.

Bil’in is known around the world as a symbol of Palestinian popular resistance against the construction of the Israeli apartheid wall. Since 2005, the villagers of Bil’in have organized weekly protests with the participation of Israeli and international activists to oppose the continuining Israeli theft and colonization of their land.
