Leading up to the World Education Forum, taking place in occupied Palestine this fall, over three-hundred people gathered in Montreal on Friday September 24th for a benefit concert to support the Quebec delegation to the global education forum and to strengthening grassroots support for the global gathering on popular and public education.

For the first time an international gathering initiated by the World Social Forum will take place in occupied Palestine via the World Education Forum which is being strongly supported by grassroots networks in Palestine, including the Grassroots Palestinian Anti-Apartheid Wall Campaign, intimately involved in both the popular resistance to Israeli military occupation and international campaign for boycott, divestment and sanctions against Israeli apartheid.

In Montreal socially engaged artists including Paul Cargnello, Norman Nawrocki, Valerie Khayat, Jai Guru & the Kalmunity Jazz Project performed to a full house at Cabaret Mile End to benefit the Quebec delegation to the World Education Forum. Photographer Heri Rakotomalala captured the performances on camera.
